Terms of use

October 27, 2026

These terms of use (the “Terms”) govern the use of the Lunaria website and app (the “Service”), published by [To be completed: name or company name], whose details are given in the legal notice. By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these Terms.

1. Purpose of the Service

Lunaria lets you track your menstrual cycle: log your periods, symptoms and other health data, get estimates of your next periods, fertile window and ovulation, receive reminders and browse informational articles and tools.

2. A free service funded by advertising

The Service is free: all its features are available without payment. It is funded by ads provided by Google, which are labeled as such and displayed on the public pages of the site and, where applicable, on some app pages. Your health data is never used for advertising or passed to advertisers or advertising technology; how advertising cookies are managed is explained in our privacy policy.

If you wish, you can watch a short, optional video ad after logging an entry, to hide banners for 24 hours, or take out the optional paid “Ad-free” subscription, which removes ads from the app without unlocking any features. This subscription is governed by our terms of sale, which prevail over these Terms for anything relating to it.

3. Account creation and security

Tracking features require an account (a verified email address and a password, or Sign in with Google) and your explicit consent to the processing of your health data. The Service is reserved for people aged 15 or over; below that age, the permission of a parent or legal guardian is required.

Your account is strictly personal. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your credentials confidential, and you are responsible for the use of your account. We recommend a strong, unique password and two-factor authentication. If you notice any unauthorized access, change your password and let us know without delay.

4. Medical disclaimer

Lunaria does not provide medical advice and is not a medical device. Predictions (periods, fertile window, ovulation) are statistical estimates based on the data you enter; they may be inaccurate, especially if your cycles are irregular. They must never be used as a method of contraception, even if you chose the “avoid pregnancy” goal, nor to make a diagnosis. For any question about your health, contraception or plans to conceive, consult a healthcare professional. In an emergency, call your local emergency number (112 in the European Union).

The articles and tools on the site are provided for general information and do not replace a medical consultation.

5. Your obligations

You agree to use the Service fairly, for personal and non-commercial purposes, in compliance with the law. In particular, you must not:

  • access or attempt to access another person’s account;
  • disrupt the Service or circumvent its security measures and technical limits;
  • scrape its content by automated means, or copy or decompile its code, except where permitted by law;
  • introduce viruses or any other malicious code;
  • use the Service for unlawful purposes, or in someone else’s name without their permission.

6. Availability

We do our best to keep the Service available at all times, under a best-efforts obligation, but cannot guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free: it may be suspended for maintenance or because of technical incidents. We may change the Service and add or remove features; if we ever had to close it permanently, we would do our best to let you know early enough for you to export your data.

Reminders depend on your browser, device and email provider: they may be delayed or may not reach you. Do not rely on them alone to take a medication, especially your contraceptive pill.

7. Intellectual property

The Service and its components (software, interface, the Lunaria name and logo, texts, articles, illustrations) are protected by intellectual property law and belong to the publisher or its licensors; third-party fonts and icons are used under their own licenses (see the legal notice). You are granted a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the Service; any reproduction or reuse without prior written permission is prohibited.

The data you enter belongs to you: you only authorize us to host and process it to provide the Service.

8. Personal data

How we process your personal data, in particular your health data, is described in our privacy policy. You can export your data, delete your cycle data or delete your account at any time in Settings.

9. Liability

The decisions you make based on the information provided by the Service are your own responsibility. To the extent permitted by law, the publisher shall not be liable for damage resulting from:

  • use that does not comply with these Terms, in particular using estimates as a means of contraception or diagnosis;
  • access to your account resulting from a lack of care on your part in keeping your credentials safe;
  • an interruption or malfunction not attributable to the publisher (failure of your device, browser, connection or email provider, force majeure);
  • the content of ads served by Google or of the third-party sites they link to.

Nothing in these Terms limits the rights you have under mandatory consumer protection rules, including the legal guarantee of conformity where it applies, or excludes the publisher’s liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct or personal injury.

10. Suspension and deletion of accounts

You can delete your account at any time in Settings: deletion is immediate and permanent, and any backups are overwritten within 30 days at most. If you have taken out the Ad-free subscription, deleting your account ends it immediately, with no further charge, under the conditions set out in our terms of sale.

We may suspend or delete an account in the event of a serious or repeated breach of these Terms, fraud, a threat to the security of the Service, or at the request of a competent authority. Except in an emergency or where the law requires otherwise, we will notify you in advance by email, stating the reason, and you will be able to respond.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms to reflect changes to the Service or to the law. Any significant change will be notified to you by email or by any other appropriate means, reasonably in advance of its effective date. If you do not accept it, you can delete your account at any time, free of charge; otherwise, continuing to use the Service constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by French law. If you live in another European Union country, you keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.

In the event of a dispute, please contact us first so that we can look for an amicable solution. If your written complaint does not resolve it, you may, as a consumer, refer the dispute free of charge to our consumer mediator (Articles L. 611-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code): [To be completed: name of the consumer mediator].

Failing an agreement, the dispute will be brought before the competent courts. As a consumer, you may bring proceedings, in addition to any court having territorial jurisdiction under the French Code of Civil Procedure, before the court of the place where you lived when the contract was concluded or when the harmful event occurred (Article R. 631-3 of the French Consumer Code); if you live in another EU country, you may also sue in the courts of your country of residence.
